Housing Justice in the MA State Budget The MA House of Representatives has unveiled their state budget for 2025, and starting next week they'll vote on the many amendments that have been proposed. Two of Episcopal City Mission's community partners for housing justice, the Greater Boston Community Land Trust Network and the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization, have asked for our support to get our Representatives to co-sponsor three very important housing justice amendments! These urgent requests need our action ASAP, since amendments could come up as soon as Monday! We have prepared a new toolkit for those that have time and energy to make calls - which is the most impactful way to communicate. More details behind each amendment are also in the toolkit. If you only have a minute, please at least take the time to send one email: Find your state rep: https://malegislature.gov/Search/FindMyLegislator. Sample email: “Dear [Rep. NAME], My name is [your first and last name] and I am a constituent of [Rep. NAME] living at [your full address]. I am very concerned about affordable housing in MA and would like to see [Rep. NAME] co-sponsor three amendments proposed to the current House Budget that would help with our state’s housing crisis.
Can you please let me know if you become a co-sponsor on any or all of the amendments? Sincerely, [YOUR NAME & CONTACT INFO] If you'd like to bring Season of Advocacy to your church, read more about different ways to do that here and register here! Anyone can use the toolkits as an individual without signing up.
